Zzzzzzz

I'm not sure what goes on in the NICU overnight. Seems to me like these babies have a party or something. Jaeden may still be looking for the culprit that took his friend's, Annie, flapper hat. (check out her blog)

Today was another day to catch a lot of Z's. He opened his eyes briefly. By no means did that last too long. The excitement of bottlefeeding this weekend may have worn out the Jae Man. I rushed to the hospital for his 4 o'clock feeding, anticipating being able to give him his bottle, however, once again, the boss had a different plan. ;-) Upon my arrival, the angel was sound asleep not even trying to wake up for his feeding, so we had to gavage him. (Gavage is a fancy way to say he was fed via the tube that goes directly to his stomach) By the way, the tube has been moved from his mouth to his nose. (As you can tell from the picture.) This was done because when he feeds from the bottle the tube interferes with his suction. Now with it being in his nose he is able to get a better suction on the nipple, enabling successful bottle feeds.

Jaeden is up to 1735 grams. (3 lbs 13 oz) He has to gain 30 grams in order to increase his feeds to 35 cc's every three hours, which totals a little over 9 oz of milk per day. I am confident that Jaeden can kick the isolette to the curb by this coming weekend. I am speaking that into existence. ;-) Remember you heard it here first on 7/14.

I think Jaeden knows that Mommy and Daddy's birthdays are at the end of the month and he wants to give us a wonderful gift.....His Homecoming!!!! Wouldn't that be GLORIOUS??!??!?!!!!!
